Where will they go and what will they do?
Interesting question this....After reading this report that the SHUTTLE Reentry was delayed by 24 hours because of cloudy skies and the like Gaurav asked me this question....
Well Now that their reentry is delayed by 24 hours what will they do and where will they go ? Even the several unforseen (or in many cases well forseen ) delays of the Indian Railways usually entails several cups of tea and snacks in the railway platforms. In fact during the incessant period of rains in Bombay it was interesting to note that several of the "True Mumbaikars" who wrote in to Rediff were seen commenting about " the snacks that were available in the railway stations and even during the deluge".

Good one Siva! But in any case... to answer your question ashok... Shuttles usually have an abundance of Nutrition Supplies on board, for those unforseeable situations. I believe it's usually a 3 month supply for a quick mission, and a 6 month one for longer missions.
And water is not an issue, since it is only acts the part of Engine Oil (gasoline burns... oil just helps the engine run smooth). i.e, it helps our metabolism, but doesnt really take part in it... so it's actually not spent food, and thus can be recycled. And from what I have heard from my sister (who used to intern at NASA), NASA branded recycled human dispose (sweat, urine, and what have you) water is cleaner than Aquafina in a sealed bottle in your local 7/11 freezer :)
Eeks! Next time I drink Aquafina, I'll remember.
